Innovation
The Quantum Revolution is producing a new multi-billion dollar industry that will disrupt many major sectors, especially defense, cybersecurity, biomedical and life science, and transportation. These transformational impacts will be driven by those innovative companies and entrepreneurs that can harness the novel capabilities of quantum technologies to deliver value to end-users. While some of the applications of quantum technology will simply improve upon existing use-cases, many others will be fundamentally new and emergent. The MQA is dedicated to accelerating the Quantum Revolution by supporting the creation of a vibrant quantum ecosystem in the Mid-Atlantic Region that connects these quantum innovators with the expertise, intellectual property, facilities, talent, support structures, investors, partners, and potential customers they will need to go to market. MQA initiatives include:
- Developing an exchange to help move quantum innovations from members’ lab to use; and
- Launching a Quantum Startup Foundry to incubate and support quantum startups.
Quantum Startup Foundry
The Quantum Startup Foundry (QSF), launched in 2021, is a community (both physical and virtual) that provides the resources and support needed for startups to advance these global innovations in quantum.
Quantum IP Exchange
Members of the MQA own a variety of intellectual property (IP) rights for quantum and quantum-enabling technologies that are available for licensing.
